Planting and caring for your living willow structure

Willow is a versatile, flexible,  fast growing plant, making it ideal for use in constructing structures for shade, shelter and privacy. Living willow projects are not difficult to construct and quickly reward you with beautiful, leafy growth in the first year.

In Ontario the best time to plant is while the willow is dormant,  in early spring just after the ground thaws. Once planted, willow requires regular watering and some pruning or weaving to maintain it's shape.
